ATF TRAVEX 2026: Shaping the Future of ASEAN Tourism

Cebu is set to host ATF TRAVEX 2026, reaffirming the Philippines’ central role in Southeast Asian tourism as industry leaders from across ASEAN come together to shape the region’s future.

As the flagship travel trade event of the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF), TRAVEX continues to be a key platform for collaboration, idea-sharing, and long-term partnerships. It brings together national tourism organisations, buyers, sellers, media, and policymakers with a shared vision: strengthening ASEAN’s position as a united, competitive, and sustainable tourism destination.

One of the highlights of ATF TRAVEX 2026 will be the participation of all 11 ASEAN Member States, including Timor-Leste, the region’s newest member. Delegates can expect valuable insights into emerging destinations, evolving travel trends, and the strategies shaping tourism growth across Southeast Asia.

According to the Tourism Promotions Board Philippines, hosting ATF TRAVEX is both a responsibility and an opportunity — reflecting ASEAN’s growing momentum, regional connectivity, and commitment to working together in an increasingly competitive global tourism landscape.

As ATF celebrates its 45th anniversary, ATF TRAVEX 2026 stands as a milestone event, reinforcing a shared sense of purpose and highlighting ASEAN’s collective vision for navigating the future of tourism together.

Strong Global and Local Interest for SL-MICE Expo 2025

The SL-MICE Expo 2025, organised by the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB), will take place in Colombo from 22–26 September 2025. This flagship event positions Sri Lanka firmly on the global MICE map, bringing together international and local stakeholders for business growth, networking, and collaboration.

Interest has been overwhelming, with more than 500 applications from 45+ countries, resulting in the selection of 100 foreign agents and 15 media representatives from 30 countries. Locally, over 110 vendors from Sri Lanka’s travel and tourism industry have already registered to showcase their services.

According to Dheera Hettiarachchi, Chairman of SLCB, the Expo is not just an event but a catalyst for partnerships, economic growth, and an opportunity to highlight Sri Lanka’s unique potential as a world-class MICE destination.

The five-day program will feature a business forum, B2B meetings, gala dinner, and familiarization tours to Kandy and Nuwara Eliya, highlighting Sri Lanka’s rich cultural and natural heritage.

Since its inception in 2021, the SL-MICE Expo has become a cornerstone of Sri Lanka’s MICE calendar, growing in global recognition each year.
